Information

The Noodlehead Compass bag is a pattern for a spacious shoulder bag with two distinctive outer pockets, and is available in 2 sizes. The bag closes with a magnetic snap and has an inner pocket and zip pocket. The shoulder strap can be adjusted.

Dimensions of the finished bag:

  • Large: 28.75cm wide, 32.5cm high and 12.5cm deep
  • Small: 23,75cm wide, 27,5cm high and 10cm deep

Recommended fabrics:

  • Waxed cotton, canvas, jeans for the outer fabric
  • Cotton for the lining and accent fabric

Supplies for a fabric width of 110cm (small between brackets):

  • Outer fabric: 70cm (45cm)
  • Accent fabric (outer pockets and belt): 45cm (45cm)
  • Lining fabric: 130cm (100cm)
  • Reinforcement:
    • Pellon SF101 ~= G700: 130cm (100cm)
    • Pellon 987F ~= H640: 90cm (60cm)
  • 1 magnetic snap of 18mm
  • 2 D-rings of 25mm
  • 2 swivel hooks of 25mm
  • Zipper of 20cm for inside pocket

Optional:

  • 1 25mm strap slider (for adjustable belt)
  • 4 double cap rivets (for reinforcing the corners of the outer pockets)

Attention!

This pattern consists of a paper booklet with an English manual (and therefore also dimensions in inches - converting to metric measures is very simple: 1 inch = 2.5 cm, 1 yard = 92cm) and does require some knowledge of English sewing terms (or readiness for a little preparatory research). The manual itself is richly illustrated with drawings at each step, so don't be scared off.
Only the non-rectangular pattern parts are supplied on paper, the other pattern parts you draw yourself or cut out directly using the supplied cutting labels!
