Important Info:

The handles are sold in a set of two handles (one pair) and are installed with 12 included screws. These handles also have tiny teeth on the backplate to “grab” a hold of the bag fabric and prevent the material from separating from the handle.

Please also use glue that bonds metal to fabric, vinyl or leather, such as HT2 Gutermann to ensure that the metal adheres to your fabric or leather for a stronger hold.

Installation Instructions:

You need to cut a semicircle from the center of the bag as if you were installing a grommet. You are advised to leave the polyfilm on your hardware front to prevent scratching.

Remove the backplate of the handle and keep the screw in a safe spot. You’ll need them again ;-). We use the backplate inner edge as our guide.

Rest the top edge of the backplate along the edge of the bag. Center the template with the center of the bag.

Trace the inner semicircle shape onto the bag exterior and mark the screw holes.

Cut out the semicircle shape with scissors and make your screw holes using a punch (not an awl). Double-check the “fit” of the handle in case you need to snip a little extra, and ensure that the screw holes and posts line up. Make adjustments as required.

To prevent tiny fibers from poking out of the grommet handle edges, apply Fray Check to seal your fabric edges.

Cover the back of the grommet handle channels with Guterman HT2 adhesive and put the grommet on the front of the bag. Then apply glue to the back of the backplate, and place on the inside of your bag, while matching up all screw holes and inner channel.

Re-install the screws. You may also want to add an adhesive to the screw hole before replacing the screws.
