These striped zippers are super trendy and give your bag that little extra touch.
They are very easy to work with on a regular sewing machine — you can even stitch right over the teeth. The teeth look like metal, but are made from flexible nylon. This zipper tape also offers ultimate flexibility: you decide the final length, the number of sliders, their direction and the look of the pullers.
Tips for working with striped zippers:

Cut the zipper to your desired length, then carefully melt the ends and the edge cord with a lighter to prevent fraying. |

Never cut through the edge cord. It reinforces the zipper tape. If you want to reduce bulk at seams or corners, trim only the surrounding fabric, not the zipper itself. |

Do the stripes look like they are “dancing”? Briefly press or steam the zipper tape (not the coil) to stabilise the material before sewing. |

Use a fine needle for stitching. Avoid thick (leather) needles; Microtex needles are ideal for this work. |
