Caravan tote + pouch

Product description

The Caravan tote by Noodlehead is a pattern for a spacious shoulder bag with different compartments. The bag was originally designed as a handwork bag and therefore provides several handy small pockets. The caravan tote has a front pocket with flap closure, a front pocket with zip closure across the entire width of the bag. The main compartment closes with a magnetic closure.

On top of the bag the pattern also provides a description of the work for a matching pouch.

Dimensions:

• Bag: 36,25cm wide, 35cm high and 12,5cm deep
• Pouch: 27cm wide, 17,5cm high

Recommended fabrics:

• Waxed cotton, canvas, jeans for the outer fabric
• Cotton for the lining and accent fabric

Supplies for a fabric width of 110cm:

• Outer fabric: 70cm (45cm if no pouch is made)
• Contrast fabric (upper and front pocket): 45cm
• Lining fabric: 100cm
• Fabric for belts: 25cm (can be replaced by leather belt or webbing: 2 x 62.5cm)
• Reinforcement:
  • Pellon SF101 ~= G700: 140cm
  • Pellon 809 ~= H250: 90cm
• 1 thin 18mm magnetic snap
• 3 press snaps of 15 mm
• Zipper: 35cm for bag, 25cm for zip bag

Optional:

• If desired, this bag can be used as a knitting bag. For the guidance of the wool, the pattern provides for 2 eyelets of 8mm in the inside pocket.
• Ribbon, strap or thin (cork) leather: 6,5cm

Attention!

This pattern consists of a paper booklet with an English manual (and therefore also dimensions in inches - converting to metric measures is very simple: 1 inch = 2.5 cm, 1 yard = 92cm) and does require some knowledge of English sewing terms (or readiness for a little preparatory research). The manual itself is richly illustrated with drawings at each step, so don't be scared off.
Only the non-rectangular pattern parts are supplied on paper, the other pattern parts you draw yourself or cut out directly using the supplied cutting labels!
